Tutorbees is founded by teachers, and we are educators first. This means that we have a deep understanding of learning, pedagogy, assessment, curriculum and instruction. We will put the same care in hiring our tutors, screening for expertise and setting up individual learning goals for our students. We also have California state teaching credentials, and our children attend public schools right here in Orange County. We get it. We understand what students need to succeed, and we are committed to supporting our clients toward that path.
We have clear hourly rates with no signup fees or contracts. We will bill you at the end of each month, after the tutoring hours for the billed month are completed. Our pricing options can be found here.
We accept Checks, Zelle, Venmo, and PayPal, including major credit cards. We will provide an invoice to you periodically reminding you to make your payments. We can provide the invoice by mail, in person or electronically – let us know what you prefer.
Yes, we do work with small group of 2 or 3 students.
The hourly rate for a group of 2 students is 1.5 time the regular one-on-one hourly rate.
The hourly rate for a group of 3 students is 1.75 times the regular one-on-one hourly rate.
Example #1: group of 2 students taking AP Calculus. The total hourly charge is: 1.5 * 75 = $112.5
Example #2: group of 3 students studying for an Algebra test. The total hourly charge is: 1.75 * 65 = $113.75
Group rates cannot be combined with any other offer, discount, or promotion.
We do not recommend tutoring in groups of more than 3 students.
K-12 students attend school five days a week, so they have evolving needs for homework, tests and other assignments. We believe that a clear schedule of 2-3 days per week is optimal for supporting students so that they can keep up with the latest lessons, study for their tests, review test scores, and work on assignments. Many clients have Monday-Wednesday-Friday or Tuesday-Thursday-Saturday schedules, and others have more individualized schedules. If our clients want to change schedules due to vacations or changes in needs, we are open to that, and we’ll work with them to make sure we have a schedule that works. We also offer convenient online sessions as well.
You can expect that our tutor will show up on time at the scheduled location to work with the student. Sessions typically last 1-2 hours in length (depending on your needs). The first few minutes of the session will be spent going over goals for the session, and the last few minutes will be spent reviewing what was learned and looking forward to the next session. Tutors are there to provide a service to our clients, and they do not accept payments from clients, and are not permitted to discuss fees or schedules; please contact us at info@tutorbees.com for this information. You can also expect to hear from us periodically to ask how things are going, and if the tutor is a good fit for your learning needs.
We cover most of the areas in public schools, including all levels of math, English, social studies and sciences. We do occasionally receive requests for electives such as an international language or technology, and we are willing to discuss these needs with you. Some students may also need test preparation for SAT, ACT, AP exams or other placement tests – we can help as well. We have specific curriculum and qualified tutors to support you in these areas.

We ask for your help to provide clear and consistent schedules for our skilled tutors. Please let us know about a cancellation as soon as possible. This helps us to rearrange times for our tutors, avoid gaps in their schedules and/or offer the time slots to other clients. If a cancellation is done at least 24 hours in advance, there is no charge, and we will reschedule your session. cancellations with less than 24-hour notice will be charged the full session cost. Cancellation may be done by phone, text or email, but it must be done by the primary adult responsible for billing.
If appropriate notice is not given, and the tutor arrives at the tutoring location or starts an online tutoring session and the client is a “no show”, then the client will be charged for the full session cost of tutoring. The tutor is only required to wait 15 minutes for the tutee; waiting beyond that time is at the discretion of the tutor.
Rescheduling a session is not always guaranteed and will depend on availability of tutors. To cancel/reschedule your appointment, please call or text us at 949-339-9449. You can also email info@tutorbees.com
